Matrimonial Safety Guidance

Practical steps for safer, more private and family-aware matrimonial introductions.

Last updated: September 2026

1. Keep account credentials private

Never share your password, one-time verification code, recovery code or banking credentials with a member, family representative or anyone claiming to be platform staff.

2. Protect personal information

Use the platform’s messaging and privacy controls before sharing a personal phone number, email, workplace, social-media account or detailed address. Do not post Aadhaar, passport, PAN, bank-account or other government/financial identifiers in your profile.

3. Verify important claims independently

Profile approval is not a guarantee. Before making significant decisions, members and families may independently confirm identity, marital status, education, employment and other information they consider material, while respecting privacy and applicable law.

4. Involve trusted people when appropriate

Members who prefer a family-oriented process can involve parents, guardians, elders or another trusted person at a stage that feels appropriate. This is a user choice and should not be used to override the consent or safety of the person whose profile is involved.

5. Meet safely

For an initial in-person meeting, consider a public place, tell a trusted person where you are going and arrange your own transport. Do not travel to an isolated location because another member pressures you to do so.

6. Be cautious about money

Be alert to requests for loans, emergency transfers, investment opportunities, gift cards, crypto payments, immigration fees or payments to prove commitment. Never send money because someone threatens, pressures or emotionally manipulates you.

7. Consent and respectful boundaries

No member is entitled to another person’s phone number, photos, private information, continued conversation, meeting or marriage decision. Stop contacting someone when they withdraw consent or ask you to stop.

8. Respect screenshots and private content

Do not capture, forward, repost or publish another member’s private gallery, contact details, profile information or chat without their permission. Protected pages may contain user-linked watermarks. Technical controls can discourage copying but cannot guarantee prevention of every device-level screenshot, so members should report misuse promptly.

9. Report suspicious or abusive conduct

Use the available block/report/support features for suspected fraud, impersonation, threats, harassment, sexual content, blackmail or privacy abuse. Preserve relevant evidence where safe to do so. If there is immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency or law-enforcement service.

An-Nikkah will never need your password or OTP through another member.Treat any such request as suspicious and report it.
